Letter to Sundridge Residents

9 April 2020

Dear Resident

The Members of Sundridge with Ide Hill Parish Council hope you and your families remain well.

I just wanted to update you on some of the actions the Parish Council have taken and how the Council will
operate in the coming months.

The Parish Council immediately agreed to provide a grant towards the relief effort in Sundridge and Ide Hill
and made funds available to support our vulnerable residents.

Sundridge Village Hall and the Pavilion at Sundridge Recreation Ground have been closed until further notice.
The public toilets at Ide Hill will remain open over the Easter weekend and we have asked our cleaners to
carry out thorough cleaning over the holiday weekend. On 14 April 2020 (as planned) the ladies’ and
gentlemen’s toilets will be closed during the week but will remain open at weekends and on public holidays.
The disabled toilet will remain open for use by all during the week.

The recreation grounds at Sundridge, Ide Hill and Goathurst Common and Stubbs Wood remain open but
Members have agreed to close the car parks to prevent non residents from driving to these areas.

Members of the Council are keen to keep the recreation grounds open so that residents may use them for
their permitted daily exercise. Could we please stress how important it is that all our residents follow the
Government guidelines on social distancing and do not use the recreation grounds to play sports, have picnics
or other social gatherings.

As previously advised new legislation came into force on 4 April 2020 regarding holding Council meetings
and other Council requirements. The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) and the Kent
Association of Local Councils (KALC) have issued some guidelines and we will be reviewing these next week
to come up with a plan to allow council business to continue and for residents to participate in meetings.

On behalf of all at Sundridge with Ide Hill Parish Council we would like to thank all our residents who are
keyworkers. We are grateful for your service and for keeping the residents of Sundridge and Ide Hill and the
wider community safe and well.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information or assistance and can we please
ask all our residents in Sundridge and Ide Hill to stay home during the Easter weekend.

With best wishes.

Yours sincerely
